GRE (Graduate Record Examinations) is held througout the year at certain chosen centers. GRE is eligibility criteria for pursuing M.S. (similar to M.Tech in India) abroad. On the basis of this exam scholarship is offered by various universities. It is purely non technical & based upon quantitative aptitude, reasoning & verbal (English) aptitude. GRE is only one criteria. Statement of Purpose (SOP) & Letter of Recommendation (LOR) along with good B. Tech project are the criteria for Scholarship.
Pursuing MS/PhD from top universities abroad is always a dream for Engineering student. It provides global exposure to the students along with world class research facilities. Once degree is obtained from reputed university it gives recognition & branding. Placements in MNC is another advantage. PhD from foreign universities also enables them to pursue Post Doctrate once PhD is obtained, getting R & D and Academics jobs in India is always easier.
